Elliott Erwitt is a French- American photographer. He was born in Paris but later moved to the United States and studied photography and film. He moved back to Europe while in the US army and soon began his photography career. He became famous as a documentary photographer and gain critical acclaim at his ability to capture everyday life. This caused him to become a successful advertising photographer and his easy going approach to getting the pictures. His work was influenced by meeting the famous photographers Edward Steichen, Robert Capa, and Roy Stryker.
