Raymundo Torres presents Troy Paiva

''Troy Paiva, AKA Lost America, has been creating light painted night photography in abandoned locations and junkyards since 1989. His documentarian, yet surrealist, sometimes playful, sometimes haunting work examines the evolution and eventual abandonment of the communities, infrastructure and social iconography spawned during America’s 20th century expansion into the cities and deserts of the West–and the intensely exhillerating, yet strangely comforting act of sneaking around in the middle of the night, creating art from its ruins.''
Another night photographer, and he shares his secrets with us, yay!
He uses long exposures and flash lights to create a mood in total darkness.

Raymundo Torres presents Susan Seubert

Tintypes! Yes I have found and artist whose tintypes I ablsolutely enjoy. Susan Seubert has a way of conveing nostalgia and other emotions in her work with the sole use of a tintype, which gives it a cence of antiquity and everlastness.

Raymundo Torres presents Jack Spencer

Never had I enjoyed reading an artist statement like the one of Jack Spencer. I agree with his idea of art being in the process of creating an art work and art turning into a conversation between the viewer and the piece and how the work stands on its own to fall or raise at the end.

Raymundo Torres presents Larrie Thomson

Night photography, never had I heard of such thing until I found the works by Larrie Thomson. According to his website all of his pictures are taken at night and are not manipulated digitally he only uses a bit of lighting help from his trusty lamps and gels. His technique is someting that I would like to attempt. shooting at night sounds like fun.

Raymundo Torres presents Ernst Haas

The exact moment is what Ernst Haas captured. That is what attracted me of his work also, his abstractions and modern style.
"Ernst Haas (1921–1986) is acclaimed as one of the most important figures in 20th century photography and is considered a pioneering artist in color photography."

Raymundo Torres presents Simon Emmett

Yes a fashion photographer, but with a good cense of light.
His blurry glam photos captured my attention because they show that is is not always necesarry to have a full portrait to show beauty.
