Derrick Massey Reviews Thomas Heaton

Thomas Heaton is a travel/landscape photographer and Youtuber from the UK. He started out doing film photography at 16, obtained a media degree, and spent 4 years as a video technician making corporate videos and working events, concerts, and award ceremonies. He currently works as a freelance photographer and cameraman and also runs a photography studio, ProCap. His YouTube videos are very informative for the amateur photographer and give good insight to the mind of a landscape photographer and what comes with that profession.

Having watched his YouTube channel for many months and just recently followed him on Instagram, I have learned a lot about what comes with landscape photography. He shows the ups and downs of exploring a new area, his editing workflow, different camera techniques, and what to look for and expect when going out and about gathering images. 

Following Heaton's work has been very informative in trying to find what lane of photography I feel most comfortable following. Seeing the mindset before, during, and after as well as the process and results of his explorations is very inspirational and gives a lot of motivation while preparing for my next photo shoot.
