Jessica Hawkins reviews Michael Wolf
Michael Wolf's Tokyo Compression series is very fascinating. It's mostly photographs of people smashed against windows and tends to have some sort of texture or condensation on it that is very pleasing to my eye as I love anything with good texture. It seems to be a comment on how populated and truly condensed the city over there is and made me think of those videos most have seen a while back that shows a metro station somewhere in Asia and they are literally cramming people in like sardines because the doors don't even close. Looking at the photographs it seems to be the windows on a metro or somewhere in a public space of people either smashed against the window, sleeping, or having a private and intimate moments amongst a sea of people.
