Lola Alvarez Bravo was a Mexican photographer from Mexico City. Her husband is the one who taught her about darkroom processes such as developing film. He was the initial spouse that was into photography but as she played assistant to him, she too built a desire to do photography.
Lola Alvarez Bravo went on to photograph advertising and fashion. She shot many different photos in Mexico's villages and streets. She actually opened up a gallery and taught photography in Mexico City. She played with photomontage a little bit, too. Photomontage is the process and the result of making one photograph by joining two or more photos into an illusion of an unreal subject. Overall, I recommend her because she brings cultural awareness. I enjoy photos that display examples of the daily lives of different places and different people and she give just that!
