Lola Alvarez Bravo by Brandi Adams

Lola Alvarez Bravo's work was first introduced to me in a Mexican art history class. Her images grabbed me because they had a sense of narrative with very little subject matter to go on. She was also very good friends with Frida Khalo and as you can see from her portrait below Alvarez Bravo could create a surreal image with a simple mirror on a wall.
