Jessica Hawkins reviews Didier Massard

Didier Massard is a French photographer that currently lives in Paris, France.  He got his degree in Art and Archeology at the University of Paris and has been in countless shows starting all the way back in 1976 in Milan. His work is considered "magical realism" painting rather than photography because his work contains a lot of ethereal lighting and soft illusion. He also only does a couple photographs a year because due to all the flawless optical manipulations he puts into each one. Every photo is simply breath taking and has this sense of a slight alternate reality to the world we live in with a romantic sense of illusion.

These photos seem to be a bit enchanting and make you wonder if this is our world or some scene in a high profile fantasy film. There is this balance he maintains between beckoning the viewer to want to physically jump in and get lost in the photograph but also ominous with a slight otherworldly feel to it.
