William Kentridge is a South African artist who is better known for his
charcoal animation. Kentride is of
European decent, his parents were lawyers living and working in
Johannesburg. His animations tell
stories of life in South Africa as he saw it. Felix in Exile is Kentridges fifth film and it touches on the
subjects of struggle and death. Kentridge animations share characters and can be looked at as
a continuing narrative but do not necessarily have to be watched in any
particular order. They each hold their own narrative.
