This is a diptych photograph of paper airplanes. The artist creates this aesthetic horizon image to honor the soldiers who would be the lookouts on the coast. Her process gives this abstract feeling of what the soldiers would see at sunrise and sunset. She achieves this feeling by putting together layers and layers of actual paper airplanes but gets the right color because of the type of paper and the times it had to be photographed. There are many other pieces like this with the same process but different background.
