Andrea Couture submits Tina Enghoff
Tina Enghoff is a Danish photographer who tries to tell a story with all of her photographs. One series of her photographs that I enjoy the most is one called "Seven Years". In this series Enghoff photographed "Non-western" women that had married Danish men. These women were victims of violence, abused by their husbands, and then released back to their husbands who suffered no consequences. Enghoff kept the women from the series anonymous, hiding their faces, to create a universal subject matter that does not give a time or place to the situation. All of the photographs from this series gives a sense of being alone, uncertain, and hurt. I think she shows these emotions through her use of color and composition.
