Chris Killip was born at the Isle of Man in the United Kingdom.He started out as an assistant advertising photographer in London, but eventually he moved on to solo works.He tends to photograph the people of the United Kingdom in their natural habitat, a habitat that is eerie, and occasionally foreboding.There appears to be no easy expression with any of the characters; they are strained and contorted expressions.Even with all of this angst in the photos there is still an odd sense that the characters are comfortable in these settings.His most famous photo series was In Flagrante which won him many accolades including an award by the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation.
