Susan Meiselas began photography focusing on women strippers at fairs in new england. she then moved on to magnum photography and she is best known for her take on the inssurection in nicaragua and human rights in latin america. In the photograph above Meiselas wanted to show the energy of the women and how they felt while they were up on stage. I think this woman has a sad lonely feel to her even though the expression on her face says otherwise. she almost look proud to be up there showing off her body but i still am getting a sympathetic feeling towards her.
