Steve McCurry takes photographs around the world telling the story of many different cultures. He is known for his amazing portraits. You guys have probably seen his portrait of peshawar the afghan girl it was on the cover of national geographic. His work is what got me interested into photography. His pictures are raw. He doesnt spare any of the disturbing details i think that is why his work is so powerful. The picture above is of a sand storm in india. I think it has a dream like quality because the sand gives it a sepia tone look to it. The red color of the womans cloaks is what draws my attention. It is pretty clear where this picture is being taken because of the clothes and the jewelry on the womens feet and arms.
