Blair Bodden submits Robin Germany

Robin Germany received her Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy in 1980 from Tulane University in New Orleans. Then she went on to receive her Master of Fine Arts in Photography in 1985 at the University of North Texas in Denton. Germany pushes the lines between nature, science and art. She uses this to make inquiry of the nature of being a human being. Germany’s series A Difficult Nature is a series of photographs of nature. Once the photos are taken she then distorts them to uses the photographs to depict organisms that are not visible to the human eye. Sometimes these images resemble the inner workings and possible problems of the human body. While other photographs represent microscopic organisms such as mold spores. Germany pushes the boundaries between science and art. The images closely represent the organ/organism that she is depicting but with a second look from the viewer then takes on the artist nature of the prints. For me as an upcoming photographer Germany inspires me to explore new techniques and ideas.
