Ryan Kirby submits Ted Van Cleave

The colorful minimalism of Ted Van Cleave captures the essence of what could be oddly overlooked. This is specially shown in his Los Angeles Series where one can see pink, orange and dark mountains in a somewhat sultry setting. He delves into the “modern” architecture of the city and displays it in a way that might raise Andy Warhol’s eyebrow. Even outside of the Los Angeles Series I can see the influence of pop art on his photographs. I am really “drawn” to his use of clean lines and subjects and this is very analogous to the architecture that he is photographing. I also often trend toward a minimal look when I photograph.
