Rodney Smith graduated from the University of Virginia and later studied photography under Walter Evans at Yale. Smith was awarded a fellowship to Jerusalem where he created his first publication "In The Land of Light." After this book was published Smith was asked to lecture at many Universities and the funny thing about it is that he declined every offer. After looking at his portfolio and reading his biography I immediately loved his sense of humor. In his photographs I am drawn to the clothing he chooses for his subjects. Its comical because these people are so well dressed and they would not be performing these activites otherwise. What I enjoy most is that they are landscapes and portraits, some black and white and in color. I really enjoy the creativity in all his photographs.
