Chad Davis reviews Maia Flore

Information for artist Maia Flore was very difficult to come by so I will be writing solely about her collection Sleep Elevations.

The body of work, Sleep Elevations, is a selection of woman floating up into the sky peacefully and asleep by some sort of strange object.  My personal interpretation of this selection is an out of body experience each of these woman are having while in bed, one where they are dreaming of the object or something relative to it that it is removing them from the real world, creating an escape.  The contortions in the figures and the ease at which they rise is related to the attraction and the excitement they have for the new boundless surroundings with which their imagination is the key to their new existence.
