Cig Harvey is a woman, not a man! I have no idea if thats her full name or if its short for something? Since the age of thirteen, she has found herself captivated by and single-mindedly committed the medium of photography. After reading up on her I felt like I shared quite a few things in common with her. Cig's favorite time of day is the early morning when she listens to NPR, drinks PG Tips tea & brainstorms how to visually manifest her ideas. She has never met a vintage dress she didnt like nor a face cream that was too expensive.
Her photos are just absolutely delectable with a color sense that you can almost taste. The work fees like modern memories, and it's her strong sensibility that has attracted clients like Kate Spade and a long roster of editorial publications. She received her MFA from Rockport College/ Maine Photographic Workshops in Rockport, Maine where she also teaches in the summertime. During the academic year, Cig teaches a variety of classes at the Art Institute of Boston. Along with her fine art photography, Cig has had commercial success with clients including Bloomingdales, Kate Spade, Ralph Lauren, Ace Insurance, The Wyndham Hotel Group, and Utopia, New York City.
